Shirley Yoshida is part of the Business Prosperity team at Mackey Advisors. She serves as a Small Business Prosperity Coach. Shirley is a CPA and received a Master in Business Administration focusing on finance and accounting from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. She is also a graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Shirley has diverse industry experience in public and private companies with international and multi-location operations. She started her career at Ernst & Young and left after 12 years as a Senior Manager. Shirley’s work experience includes senior financial, audit, and accounting roles at Macy’s, Inc. HealthSouth Corporation, Safeway, Inc., E&J Gallo Winery, Corporate Express, and Arrow Electronics, Inc.
Shirley and her husband, Tom Anderson, have one daughter and reside in Cincinnati.

Do you have any pets?
“Not at this time. However, my daughter is trying to persuade me to find the right dog as a companion.”
What is your favorite food?
“Dark chocolate, always.”
Do you have a hidden talent?
“I absolutely love finding and trying out new recipes for friends and family”
What is your dream vacation?
“A train trip through the Canadian Rockies or touring and sailing in New Zealand with my family.”
What has been your biggest personal “epiphany” about money?
“I realized that it was not enough to set financial goals and plans to achieve those goals, but you need to be flexible as things happen and life can change unexpectedly, positively and negatively. It is important to revisit your goals and plans to either reaffirm them or alter them.”
